Public Advocate Bill de Blasio catapulted to the lead in the race for the Democratic nomination for New York City mayor, delivering another jolt to the race for City Hall as it heads into the final stretch before next month’s primary, a new poll released Tuesday showed.
Among likely Democratic primary voters, Mr. de Blasio led the pack with 30%, followed by Christine Quinn, the City Council speaker, at 24%, and Bill Thompson, a former city comptroller, at 22%, according to the latest survey from the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
