Romney On Bachmann’s Muslim Brotherhood Claims: Not ‘Part Of My Campaign’:
Many Republicans have been rather vocal about Michele Bachmann‘s claim that there may be some officials in the State Department with Muslim Brotherhood ties, but Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been quiet on the issue. When Romney was asked about that controversy, in addition to the national outcry over Chick-fil-A, Romney brushed them aside, commenting, “Those are not things that are part of my campaign.”
Bachmann was roundly condemned by several prominent individuals in her own party, including John McCain, and supported by others, but Romney did not give any opinion on whether he agrees with Bachmann’s remarks or not.
He also wouldn’t say whether he thinks members of his party talking about those issues are a distraction.
“I’m not going to tell other people what to talk about,” Romney said.
