What is amazing is how liberals like to say they support open and free speech when in reality what they stand for is "you are entitled to our opinion". Liberals have proven themselves to be guttless, whiney, sissy, pissants who want to sit at home eating bon bons while hard working conservatives support them. Grow up and get a job you useless cry-babies.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. The hypocrisy of the left is reaching new levels. It will be so satisfying to see Nancy Pelosi being dragged of the Speakers Chair, watching her nails dig in to the upholstry as she screeches in protest. The criticism of Fox, the only station that provides both sides of the story, is absolutely made in fear. Liberals are gutless wonders who serve only one purpose in life - to show what not to become.
ReplyDeleteBoth of you do not understand the concept of free speech in America. You only have free speech in relationship to the government. The government cannot restrict your right to free speech. You do not have a free speech right with regard to your employer. Juan williams violated his employment contract with NPR by expressing an opinion on a topic of controversy in a public forum. This violated his contract. His views clearly expressed prejudice and bigotry. He was rightly fired.
ReplyDeleteJohn, spoken like a true liberal..."You are entitled to my opinion or else you are a bigot". Heaven forbid on NPR that an opinion is given that is not anti-Christian or anti-American. Juan has been providing opinions on Fox for two years and NPR did nothing, by that fact any clause within his contract is null and void - ask any lawyer. The dumb ass CEO, if Juan so chooses to sue, will have a major problem and then she will need the psychiatrist. The good news is several congressmen are now talking of pulling public funds away from NPR - it's about time. Let George "I'm Old, Corrupt and Senile" Soros fund them. And as a side note, Juan challenging the politically correctness that has permeated this country and in essence paralyzed this country was the right thing to do. John, continue to turn a blind eye to the fact we were attacked by gutless muslims on 9/11. Let's just hope the next time we get attacked they take out all these bleeding heart liberals who are too afraid to call it like it is. What a bunch of COWARDS.
ReplyDeleteWe were not attacked by Muslims. We were attacked by Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda is a small group of terrorist who are Muslim. The problem with most conservatives is that they are unable to see distinctions that lay outside of their immediate experiences. They pain with a broad brush and as a result miss very significant details.
ReplyDeleteJohn, you seem like a nice guy, naive, but nice. Unfortunately, today being blind to reality is getting us nowhere. How is that distinction you talk about working for President Narcissist who has bowed down to every muslim nation? The Time Square bomber himself has stated "the MUSLIM war with the United States has just begun with a single drop of blood". Liberals want to make the distinction between Al Queda, islamic extremists etc. The muslim countries do not. It is time to wake up.
ReplyDeleteLabeling people is naive. Have you ever had Muslim friends? Have you ever visited a Muslim country? To paint all Muslims with one broad brush is extremely naive as well as bigoted. Your libelous comments about our president are disgraceful. Because one person claims there is a Muslim war does not make it true. You are the naive one.
ReplyDeleteJohn, there is nothing maliciously defamaitory regarding my remarks about President Narcissist. If you need proof, just listen to his words, just look at his actions. Harry Reid just recently stole one of Obama's lines and is taking heat for it; "I saved the world from a worldwide depression". It makes me wonder how well he sleeps at night wearing a super hero cape. To answer your questions, yes I do have Muslim acquaintances and I do come from a country with a very strong Muslim contingent. And it is quite clear as a Christian, that we need to stay away from politics and religion as we are seen as the infidels, the inferior. And although most Muslims will abide by our laws, they do not necessarily agree with them. "Our time will come" is a phrase I hear often. The problem I have with the bleeding heart left is they are ashamed of this country. You think Juan Williams was bigoted and yet commentators on NPR can advocate AIDs to strike a Republican congressman and his family and that's okay. "The country would be allot better with a few million Christians disappearing from the country", that's okay to say on NPR. But state it makes you nervous to see Muslims in an airport in Muslim garb identifying themselves as Muslims first making you nervous is unacceptable. Cowards, that's all I can say. The good thing is there is a growing contingency of politicians now seeking to defund NPR. Let's see how well it does on it's own. Why don't you read a few books (you sound and look like an academic - good thing, not being libelous) by Ergun Mehmet Caner, who has lived in this country and Egypt as a Muslim woman. Maybe then you may not be so quick to jump to their defense at the expense of the country that gives you rights that the Muslim countries deny. Better yet, maybe the CEO of NPR should take her sorry pathetic excuse of a life and go live over in Saudi Arabia and see how she makes out.
ReplyDeleteI am fully aware of the abuses that occur in Muslim countries. I am personally not attracted with Islam. I explored it when I was younger and rejected it. My issue is as an American. We have fought for hundreds of years to create a more perfect union in this country. It has been a long struggle. Many people have suffered and died. I have personally been the victim of an enormous degree of bigotry. I know how subtle bigotry can be as well as how virulent. As an American I am standing up not just for Muslims but for all of us in America.
ReplyDeleteI once sat in a Marco Polo hotel in Tawau Malaysia in 2002, during the Christmas season. A group of Muslims in Muslin garb walked across the hotel lobby. I felt a little nervousness. All of a sudden one of the Muslim women's cell phone went off. Get what song she was using as a ring tone. "Santa Clause is coming to town". I broke out laughing out laud. Why was I laughing? I was laughing at my own stupid bigotry, ignorance and prejudice.
Juan Williams was not wrong for feeling nervousness or fear. He was wrong for not recognizing his own bigotry as well as the impact his bigotry can have on other people. I know what it is to be on the receiving end of baseless fear and bigotry. I know what it feels like to have white women become outwardly nervous when I walk into an elevator with no one else present. Fortunately it has not happened to me lately. I am an older man. I do however remember the resentment that I felt towards these women for their obvious prejudice. I always, inside my head have wanted to shout, "you ugly witch. Do you really think I would want you? " Of course in stead I always swallowed my anger and smiled at them to make them confortable. The issue is why should I or others have to experience this type of bigotry? I, as a young man was repeatedly attacked by white youths yelling racial slurs on Staten Island in New York City. I lost sight in my left eye one time for over two weeks. I do not see all white people as evil. I recognized, even at that time that they were simply bad people. If I had begun to hate and fear all whites i would become just like my attackers.
In closing I believe we have a responsibility, as Americans, a responsibility was humans, to overcome our petty prejudices and bigotry. I criticize Juan Williams for not recognizing his own bigotry and also for inflicting this bigotry upon Muslims who have heard his words.
Thanks for your comments.
